Karnataka MLC Elections Notification 2012

Biennial elections to the Karnataka Legislative Council from Graduates’ and Teachers’ Constituencies .

The term of office of Six members of the Karnataka Legislative Council from Graduates’ and Teachers’ Constituencies are to expire on 21st June, 2012 due to the retirement of the sitting members as detailed below :-

2.           The Election Commission has decided to conduct a biennial election to fill up the above mentioned vacancies in accordance with the following programme :-


         1.    Issue of Notification 16th May, 2012 ( Wednesday)
         2.    Last date of making nominations      23rd May, 2012 (Wednesday)
         3.    Scrutiny of nominations 24th May, 2012 (Thursday)
         4.    Last date for withdrawal of candidature   26th May, 2012 (Saturday)
         5.    Date of Poll                    10th June, 2012 (Sunday)
         6.    Hours of Poll               8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.
         7.    Counting of votes        13th June, 2012 (Wednesday) at 8:00 A.M
         8.    Date before which election shall be completed   15th June, 2012 (Friday)
