Web problems for NET aspirants in AP

National Eligibility Test aspirants are facing severe problems due to the technical glitches in the University Grants Commission website. A large number of students have been unable to submit their applications online, despite the extension of the due date from April 30 to May 2, as the website problem has not yet been resolved.

Last date for UGC NET extended

 The last date for online registration for appearing for the UGC NET, scheduled to be held on June 24, has been extended to May 2, UGC NET coordinator for Andhra University V.V. Basava Kumar said on Monday.

The AU Gandhian Studies Centre has extended the last date for applying for a free summer course on ‘Gandhian thought', from Monday to May 7 and classes will commence on May 10, its programme coordinator A.B.S.V. Ranga Rao said.

100 die in Assam ferry capsize

In a major tragedy, at least 100 people are feared drowned when a ferry capsized in the Brahmaputra in lower Assam's Dhubri district on Monday afternoon, following a cyclonic storm that left a trail of destruction. So far, 12 bodies have been recovered, official sources in Dhubri said.
